I just had a go at updating the practice wiki that they set up for us, which was an interesting experience. I added to the ‘Branch Librarians’ page, and it was great sharing other people’s experience with the same position at other libraries. Like myself, they all seem to feel this bounding enthusiasm for their professions, and emphasised some of the things that they love about this role – the variety in each and every day, the meaningful level of contact with the public, as well as how demanding a role it is in terms of sheer physical effort.
I also learnt something via trial and error, and that was if you put in ‘[ ]‘ this form of bracket, that it forms a hyperlink on the page.
And my last words on wikis? They rock.
